Situated in the province of Sondrio at a height of 1225m, Bormio has now become world famous as the organizer of the annual World Cup Downhill, known as one of the toughest on the circuit and of two World Ski Championships. Bormio has a charming old town with shops and cafes. The newer part of the town with its many hotels, also has plenty to offer in the way of shops, restaurants and cafes. A busy but compact ski resort with one of the best snow records in the Alps.
The nearby Stelvio Pass and glacier create the superb snow conditions in this world-famous, bustling ski resort, known for hosting many top ski race competitions, including a regular World Cup race and several World Ski Championships. Livigno in the Valtellina is only 30km away.
